By making the mouth gone it illustrates silence. Also there is a blank look in her eyes and even her whole face giving this image a bland look. Her personality seems very enthusiastic because of her hair cut and her makeup but in this image she has a secret and is not willing to share.

To me the story is of an Islamic teenage boy who has trouble finding who he truly is. He isn't comfortable with himself so he decides to run away from home because he is curious of what it is like not to be Islamic. But he soon realizes he makes a mistake and wants to go back. This image relates to my phrase because the teenage boy is curious of the "outside world" but understands the choice he made was wrong.

This related to the first part of my phrase "curiosty." This is because people/scientists were curious of what it is like in the outside world. So they took their brains to the highest point of imagination and landed on Mars. It took hard work and curiosity but they did it. Curiosity can bring dreams to real life, just like bringing us to mars.

This photo is telling me a story a young girl who was kidnapped and trapped. Then one day her kidnapper left and she was curious of the outside world. She ran away and didn't know anyone. She didn't know what to do or if anything would go on. She left her curiosity guide her from escaping from her past.

Memory 1: On Veterans Day my mom, my sister, and I went to the Humane Society. We didn't even consider the thought of finding a cat that we would take home, especially that day. We just wanted to see what types of cats they had. We asked a lady to take us to a separate room to show us some cats. She brought out cat after cat after cat. I don't even remember how many she brought, there was too much! Before we lost hope, the lady at the Humane Society said that they just got new cats who had already been health inspected.
Memory 2: A couple of my best memories are always during the spring time and summer. My sister, my neighbors, and I would always hang out outside. Whether we would just sit and talk or move around we'd always have a blast. We would always blow up water balloons and run around and throw them at each other. Also, we would always go on the longest walks and just keep on talking. Also, we would buy big bottles of bubbles and blow them around and try to pop them with different parts of our body. It was always a blast.
Memory 3: Always going to Poland is such a great memory. I went last year and three years before that for my uncles wedding. That was the best wedding I have ever been to. It lasted from the morning to the early morning the next day. The wedding was amazing. Just spending time with my whole family is such a important aspect in my life. My cousins and I would just run around, go to my Uncle's bakery and stuff our faces with Polish pastries. I can not wait until I go this summer.
Memory 4: Making the high school freshman volleyball team is a great achievement that I will remember. It was my first time even playing volleyball on a team. I was so scared during the try outs but the coaches were looking at me and noticed I was nervous and told me I was doing great. The next day after the first try out, I remember I woke up and was soo sore. I could not get out of bed because I had so much pain in my legs. In the end it was all worth it because I made the team.

Light as Subject Matter
I thought I was very successful in this project. I really liked the contrast of the dark and light colors in my image. If I could change one thing I would like to make my blacks a bit darker and sharper. If I did this, it would bring more attention into the middle of the picture where the focal point is. I feel since I didn't sharpen or darken these areas I'm looking more towards the lights. But overall, I'm really happy with this image!
Low Depth Abstraction
I am in love with this shot I took! I love the color of this fabric first of all so it automatically grabbed my attention. I wish I brighten the contrast a bit more so you could see more of the stitches in the piece of fabric. But, I really loved how the front of this image was not focused and then as soon as you get into the curve of this fabric its focused, clear, and crisp. Another thing that I enjoyed about this photo is that you get the feeling of a wave because there is a curve in the piece of fabric.

I really liked all 5 photos I have chosen. But if I had to choose which one I liked the most I'd say I like the Cresent moon and tree at dusk. This was my favorite because of the colors and just how the picture was taken and set. I really love the watching the sunset and sunrise. Another thing is that the tree and the moon aren't in the middle of the picture. The moon is on one half of the picture and the tree is on the other. It really just evens out the picture. I also liked how this image only had one tree. I found this very unusual because when you see trees there is usually more than one but in this image you only see one very large and beautiful tree. Another thing that I really liked about this image was how the sky lighting was different. Usually sunsets are red, pink, and orange, but in this image it was only orange and purple. This facinated me because I have never seen a purple sunset so it really just caught my eye. Lastly, I found it really cool how you can't tell the color of the tree or the ground. The artist just made these 2 pieces black and it really matches the way the picture came out. This picture was my beyond favorite.

I saw this image on MoMa and it really caught my eye. I really like this image because of the way the shadow is being presented. It's very mysterious. You don't really know what the person from the shadow is like or who they are so you can't judge them. I also like how there is some different color schemes in this image. The area near the shadow is light and then the shadow itself pops out and is dark. This image seems to be in black and white or sepia but you can clearly see what the artist wanted to get through. I really liked this shadow image.

Date Taken: n/a
Web Address:http://www.gettyimages.com/Search/Search.aspx?contractUrl=2&language=en-US&family=creative&assetType=image&excludenudity=true&p=light+vs+dark
I decided to chose this picture out of the many images that show light vs. dark for many reasons. First of all, this image really caught my eye. This is because other than the light and dark contrast, you don't really know where this tunnel will take you or what's on the other side where the light is coming through. I really loved how in this image the only clear part is the where the light is coming from, or the exit/entrance. Then the rest of it is black. I really liked how the photographer did that because it causes you to not focus at what's closer, but it causes you to focus further into the image and into the light. This is why I chose this image for light vs. dark.

I chose this photograph because I think it's really pretty and appealing to the eye. I really like how the image is focused on the heart and how the sea is just in the background. I also like how it doesn't only concentrate on the heart but it also has a highlight in the sun peeking in. Another reason why I like this photo is because I like going to the beach and this image was most likely taken at the beach or lake. Also, this image reminds me of summer and summer is my favorite time of the year! This is why I chose this photograph.

This is why I chose this image for light vs. dark.

Title: Detail of woman's hands making heart shape, sea
Date taken: n/a
I chose this photograph because I think it's really pretty and appealing to the eye.
